Legal Update: Freeze! Don’t move (your assets)!

In this legal update, we examine 3 novel points of law arising from the High Court’s decision in which we successfully obtained a Mareva injunction for our client, restraining assets of up to S$7.56 million in a matrimonial dispute.

The Court subsequently also issued its decision awarding costs of $10,000 plus disbursement to the successful applicant wife. It is not common for costs to be awarded in matrimonial proceedings due to the principle of Therapeutic Justice (“TJ”), amongst others.
