Marilyn Ho

Marilyn is an Of Counsel in the Litigation and Dispute Management Practice Group.

Marilyn handles a broad range of litigation encompassing both civil and criminal matters. She has represented clients at all levels of the Singapore Courts and has independently conducted numerous trials. Her areas of expertise include personal injury and property damage (PIPD), medical negligence, tenancy and contractual disputes, employment claims (WICA), contested and uncontested probates proceedings, deputyship and adoption applications, as well as estate planning. She is a regular speaker on topics such as Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).

Marilyn is accredited as a mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre, and regularly advises and represents clients in negotiations and mediations, particularly in sensitive matters involving medical complaints, young children or deaths.

Marilyn also has experience in arbitration proceedings including matters under the SIAC Rules, and advises on a wide range of agreements and contracts.

Known for her pragmatic and client-centric approach, Marilyn focuses on resolving disputes efficiently, with a strong emphasis on achieving practical and effective outcomes.

• Successfully negotiated an out-of-court settlement for the estate of the deceased in a medical negligence claim against two medical institutions.
• Successfully defended against a MCST claim involving alleged construction defects, resulting in an out-of-court settlement.
• Achieved $1million settlement for Estate/dependents of Deceased against the tortfeasor in a fatal motor accident.
• Secured a settlement for the claimant against town council in respect of personal injuries suffered from fall.
• Successfully defended the validity of a Will in a contested probate action.
