She is a Government of Brunei scholar and a dual-qualified lawyer, having been admitted to practise in England and Wales (2023) and Brunei Darussalam (2024).
Since joining HEP Law in 2024, Evelyne has been instrumental in a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, advising local and international clients across diverse sectors, including energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, banking, and government-linked entities.
In her corporate advisory role, Evelyne provides regulatory, transactional, and commercial support under Brunei law across various sectors. Her practice focuses on legal due diligence, employment law, and the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts. Her experience also spans the restructuring of corporate funds and financing arrangements, regulatory and compliance matters, personal data protection advisory, banking and financing transactions, property and conveyancing matters, probate, and domestic and cross-border legal advisory work.
In addition to her corporate and commercial practice, Evelyne supports the firm on civil and commercial disputes, including debt recovery matters.

Experience
- Conducted legal due diligence on Brunei-based entities of a multinational health and wellness group in connection with its listing on Bursa Malaysia. Drafted the Prospectus write-up and an Asset Transfer Agreement to consolidate assets across affiliated companies, ensuring regulatory compliance and a smooth transition to public offering.
- Drafted procurement contracts for highly specialised technical equipment, with individual contract values ranging from BND 500,000 to BND 5 million. The drafting safeguarded the client’s interests by addressing performance, delivery, and liability risks.
- Advised a global communications and technology solutions provider on compliance with Brunei’s Competition Act. Developed practical strategies to strengthen preparedness for unannounced regulatory inspections and search orders, enhancing the client’s operational resilience and reducing exposure to enforcement risks.
- Drafted an Exclusive Distribution Agreement for a Brunei-based company appointing a nationwide distributor. The agreement structured performance obligations, reporting, and minimum order commitments, providing a strong framework for the client’s commercial strategy.
- Reviewed and revised Software-as-a-Service terms and conditions for a multinational biotechnology company to ensure compliance with Brunei’s Personal Data Protection Order (PDPO). The review enabled the client to mitigate regulatory risks while maintaining business continuity and customer trust.
