Experience

  • Acted for the mother in resisting an appeal against the handover time in a shared care and control arrangement in a highly contentious matter. The High Court dismissed the appeal and agreed with the mother that the father had not complied with the procedural rules in order to exercise his rights of appeal. The High Court further agreed with the mother that there was no basis for the handover time to be varied as the skewed apportionment of time the father was seeking was not in the children's best interests. (XBV v XBU [2025] SGHCF 7)
  • Acted for the father and successfully obtained orders for shared care and control for a 5-year-old child diagnosed clinically with autism spectrum disorder. The Court found that there has been attempts to alienate the child. (XCR v XCS [2025] SGFC 64)
  • Acted for the wife in a marriage of 36 years, where the High Court agreed with the wife to return the value of around S$2.4 million (being losses arising from loans that the husband had extended to a third party) back into the matrimonial pool of assets for division.
  • Acted for the wife in a marriage of 39 years, where the wife was awarded 65% of the pool of matrimonial assets. The High Court drew substantial adverse inference against the husband and agreed with the wife that the husband had shown a degree of financial irresponsibility in how he managed his finances given the large quantities of debt he chalked up during the marriage.
  • Acted for the mother and obtained maintenance for the child under her care in a split care and control arrangement. While the Court at first instance dismissed the mother's claim for backdated maintenance, the mother’s appeal to the High Court was allowed. (URS v URT [2019] SGFC 7)
