Wei Yi has extensive experience in commercial litigation and international arbitration. She has appeared as counsel before the Singapore High Court, Court of Appeal, Singapore International Commercial Court as counsel for complex disputes involving issues of breach of contract, breach of directors’ duties, shareholders’ disputes, banking law, negligence, defamation, employment, breach of trust and collective sales. She has acted in various applications to the Singapore Court concerning challenge of arbitral awards. She has also acted as counsel in international and domestic arbitrations in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the International Chamber of Commerce.
Wei Yi heads the firm's Employment Practice. She handles all aspects of employment law, both the non-contentious aspects such as drafting of employment contracts, advising on in-employment issues, termination of employment and retrenchment, as well as the conduct of investigations of employee's misconduct and employment disputes. She has acted for both employers and employees in actions in the Singapore Court various involving breaches of employment contract, including breaches of restrictive covenants and confidentiality obligations.
Her practice also includes other non-contentious aspects of advising on and drafting of club regulations and constitutions, statutory regulations, commercial contracts and lease agreements.

Experience
- Represented a casino in various claims for recovery of debt, breach of contract and misappropriation.
- Represented the former directors of Raffles Town Club in the civil suit involving claims in excess of SGD 100 million.
- Represented the former clients of David Rasif in the civil appeal for the recovery of misappropriated monies and disposal inquiry.
- Represented an Indonesian timber company in an SIAC arbitration, for various claims in excess of USD 10 million against a foreign company for breach of contract.
- Represented an international transport organisation in defending an appeal against the jurisdictional award granted in the arbitration (CES v International Air Transport Association).
- Represented a network infrastructure company in claims against a former employee and new employer for breach of post-termination obligations and breach of confidence, recovering damages of one of the highest quantum in recent years in employment disputes (3D Networks Singapore Pte Ltd v Voon South Shoing & Sunway Digital Pte Ltd).
