Nadeeya is our Counsel and is part of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial Practice Group with extensive experience in regulatory, corporate and commercial matters, with a specialty in oil and gas. She is admitted in three jurisdictions (England and Wales, Brunei and New York) and earned her LL.M from Columbia University (New York) as a Fulbright Scholar and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
Nadeeya was inhouse counsel with the national oil company, during which she led negotiations and drafted contractual documentation for transactions across the oil and gas value chain. These included upstream oil and gas agreements with multinationals in Malaysia and Myanmar, sale and purchase of crude with trading houses and end users and downstream joint ventures for provision of a drilling platform and a floating production storage and offloading vessel.
After moving into private practice, Nadeeya provides advice on regulatory and compliance of Brunei law and drafting of contractual documentation to companies including in relation to mutual funds and brokerage services, health safety and environmental law, anti-competition, sale and purchase of shares, supply of crude and crude products, IT service contracts, build to lease of an industry-specific facility and employment matters.
Nadeeya also has experience in litigation proceedings for debt recovery, insolvency and foreclosure.
Nadeeya was called to the Bar in England and Wales in 2007, the Brunei Bar in 2014 and the New York Bar in 2015.
