Family and Divorce

We have the largest family and divorce practice in Singapore, both in terms of the number of lawyers we have as well as in terms of the number of cases handled in the Family Justice Courts of Singapore. Our lawyers are consistently ranked as one of the best Family Law Practice Groups by various publications. Our team won the prestigious "Matrimonial and Family Law Firm of the Year" at ALB SE Asia Law Awards for four consecutive years from 2016- 2019. We are also ranked in the Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific 2019 as the only Tier 1 firm in Family and Matrimonial. In addition, the Family and Divorce Practice Group was also recognised by the Doyle's Guide as the only 1st tier law firm practicing family and divorce in Singapore from 2015 to 2020. Most recently, we are ranked under the field of Family Law in The Straits Times' inaugural ranking of "Singapore's Best Law Firms in 2021".

Our team of specialized and dedicated family and divorce lawyers has extensive and varied experience in advising and managing divorces, custody disputes, complex asset tracing, division of matrimonial assets and maintenance issues as well as Syariah divorces.

In addition to being mediators with the SMC, two of our lawyers were also in the pioneer batch of Collaborative Family Practice (CFP) lawyers, an out-of-court legal scheme by the Singapore Mediation Centre that allows divorcing couples to resolve disputes without going to court.

Our lawyers were also consulted and part of the committee in the preparation of the new Family Justice Rules and for the formation of the new Family Justice Court.

Every client is given specialized and individual attention by a team of dedicated lawyers, headed by a partner and supported by experienced legal associates and professional support staff. The client’s legal interest is paramount. With our extensive experience we fully understand and appreciate that in matrimonial proceedings the experience can be emotionally painful, spiritually draining, mentally exhausting and financially burdensome. As such, we firmly believe that discretion and confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

We are able to leverage on the capabilities of various other practice groups within the firm in order to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients. We have extensive contacts with eminent external consultants in the field of private investigation, expert psychiatric and counselling services, and accounting and valuation consultants. Two of our lawyers presently serve on the Family Law Sub-Committee of the Law Society of Singapore and regularly give feedback and direction on issues relating to family law practice in Singapore.
