International Arbitration Of Counsel Shaun Leong invited by the Supreme Court of Singapore to participate in the development of the SICC rules

At the Opening of the Legal Year 2019, the Honourable the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon in His Honour’s Response Speech mentioned that the Singapore International Commercial Court (“SICC”) rules will be refined in consultation with stakeholders, with a view to reinforce the SICC’s processes.

Eversheds Harry Elias is pleased that our International Arbitration Of Counsel, has been invited to participate in a confidential consultation meeting, chaired by the Honourable Justice Quentin Loh, Judge in charge of the SICC, to discuss the SICC rules.

Shaun served as Magistrate and Assistant Registrar of the Supreme Court where he received his appointment as the Secretariat to the SICC Committee, appointed by the Honourable the Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, where he assisted with the with the establishment of the SICC and the formulation of its processes.

He is a contributing author to the Singapore International Arbitration: Law and Practice (2nd Ed), where he co-authored together with the Honourable Judge of the SICC, Sir Bernard Eder for the chapter “The Evolving Role of the Singapore International Commercial Court, Jurisdictional Issues and Enforcement Perspectives”.

He is also the author in charge of the chapters for the SICC, arbitration, and international arbitrations for the Singapore Civil Procedure ("The White Book”).
