Eversheds Harry Elias is delighted that Shaun Leong, our Of Counsel with the International Arbitration group, is a contributing author to the second edition of Singapore International Arbitration Law and Practice. The book, edited by David Joseph QC and David Foxton QC, is written by a team of international arbitration practitioners, and covers the many new developments in international commercial dispute resolution since the first edition.

Shaun, together with the Honourable Justice Bernard Eder, international Judge of the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC), wrote the chapter, “The Evolving Role of the Singapore International Commercial Court, Jurisdictional issues and Enforcement perspectives”.

The chapter explores issues around the SICC’s direct and indirect jurisdiction, including the applicability of natural forum principles; the choice of law analysis determining the law governing a choice of court clause in contracts; and the international enforceability of an SICC Judgment especially under the Hague Choice of Court framework.

Shaun worked on the establishment of the SICC as Secretariat to the SICC Committee, where he was assisted with the formulation of the rules and procedure of the Court.

The book is now published and available for order.
