Harry Elias Partnership LLP scoring another "First"

Harry Elias Partnership LLP has scored another “First” by successfully assisting a leading hotelier in Singapore owned by one of the largest commodities mining and real estate companies in the region to defend against an adjudication application pursuant to the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act (Cap. 30B) (“the SOP Act”) wherein the claimant made multiple adjudication applications in respect of a payment claim under the SOP Act. The adjudicator accepted a point of submissions by counsel and held that there could only be one adjudication application in respect of a payment claim under the SOP Act, a novel point which has never been raised and decided in Singapore previously.
