Harry Elias Partnership LLP as Singapore Counsel, together with Asia Counsel (Vietnam), participated in an Electric Vehicle (EV) and renewables deal involving Singapore private equity into Vietnam, coordinating necessary due diligence and deal structuring and implementation. Our Partner, Kennedy Chen (Corporate and Finance), led the deal for the firm.
Asia Counsel (Vietnam) (https://asia-counsel.com/) had led and spearheaded this strategic deal. On our involvement, Ross Macleod (https://asia-counsel.com/our-team/), partner of Asia Counsel added: “Kennedy’s cumulative professional perspectives, technical legal ability, and his immediate recognition of competing transactional commercial priorities, stands him out to be an asset, and our go-to. It was wonderful working with him on prior solar, wind and other renewable power asset projects. This time, no less. We look forward to continually working with Harry Elias Partnership LLP on upcoming FDI and Singapore work, including in energy and renewables, which we are known to particularly specialise in, amongst other sectors.”
Kennedy Chen said “It’s been a privilege to be able to work with Asia Counsel again, a leading prominent Vietnamese law firm with solid local footprint that brings to the table a wealth of international experience. We continue to be optimistic about the prospects and potential of FDI. Singapore always has been a natural launchpad for FDI into the APAC, Greater China and Southeast Asia (including Vietnam). Our reputation as a facilitative financial hub, ease of arranging bespoke and secure shareholding and decision-making structures to be directly implemented into any desired FDI jurisdiction, and ample support from the Singapore government, sets us apart with little doubt”
