| Chau Yee is Head of the Firm’s Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Projects Practice Group. His main areas of practice are commercial and contractual cases with particular emphasis in construction disputes, general civil litigation, and employment law.
He has advised major developers in construction disputes as well as court applications ancillary to and in connection with property development projects, and was lead counsel in several High Court and Court of Appeal cases, arbitration as well as adjudication cases. Chau Yee is also part of the team advising on Las Vegas Sands Corp’s Singapore subsidiary, Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd for the Marina Bay Integrated Resort, the first integrated resort in Singapore, and on Singapore Flyer Pte Ltd, the first and largest giant observation wheel in Singapore. The Practice Group which he heads has been recommended with a “good record in construction and engineering projects”, “active in handling construction and engineering work - and is frequently referred to as “one of leading construction and engineering practice groups” in various legal publications such as The Asia Pacific Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal. This Practice Group was also a finalist in ALB Southeast Asia Law Awards 2009 and 2010.
Chau Yee is one of the contributors to the book, “Singapore Precedents of Pleadings” (2006) and from time to time, a speaker for seminars organized by The Law Society of Singapore and others, and a contributor to legal articles in newspapers and magazines.
